Social History Project
The Nanda Talukdar Foundation has been documenting the post independence events of Assam that has shaken the whole North East India. Genre of the most of the publications of the NTF can be drawn from there.
The epic of all is the 6 volume History of Assam (1945-2020). The Original five volume was launched in 2014 (1945-2000). Seven years after that in 2021, the six volume History Of Assam encompassing the next two decades is ready for official release.
Realizing the importance of the same, two other titles came out in English. “Assam after Independence” (2015) and “Post Colonial Assam”(2019). These two books are the only books that covered the entire post Independence era in details.
Post Colonial Assam has been revised and printed again in 2020 and in 2021 as it has emerged as the sole book in the market to have the entire modern history of Assam.
Collaboration
For the ongoing social history project, the NTF has two major collaborations. One is with the Axom Xahitya Xabha (AXX) and the second one with the Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University (KKHSOU). With the latter the six volume History of Assam was published.
